Not So Great
I can honestly say that I am horrible at sculpting! I look as the sculptures that other people have down, and I am utterly amazed by them. The picture above a sculpture of Queen Cleopatra that I made for a history project. I strongly dislike sculpting, because I just cant seem to get the hang of it. Look at this! How in the world do people do it! It is so realistic and detailed. How do they get the clay to stay or form? I admire the sculptors who create pieces such as this.
Nostalgia
This is a self portrait that I painted in elementary school. Isn't fabulous? I guess the red hair gives it away that it is me. I found it in my garage and thought it was so funny because it is quite horrific. I believe my art work has improved some since then. I remember my art classes from elementary school pretty vividly. I remember in fourth grade, my art teacher used one of my art pieces to show the class what not to do. I remember it hurt my feelings so badly, and I disliked the teacher because of it. I looked for the one she criticized, but it is long gone. I wish i could show her some of my paintings now.
Just for Fun
A couple weeks ago I was in a creative mood and really wanted to paint something. Since I lack the time to create a intricate picture I decided splattering paint on a canvas would suffice. So Susanna and I found some paint, place a canvas in the backyard and had some fun! I don't create paintings like this one often, but it was relaxing to do it because I wasn't stressing to make everything perfect.
Disney Drawings
One thing I have fun drawing is disney character. I did the princess painting(water color) in study hall at my high school because I got bored (which happened often). The days I did not have a lot of homework I would ask my teacher if I could. After she said it was alright, I would whip out my paints, brushes, water, paper towel, pallet and art book. Then I would find a desk or spot on the floor and paint away. When the painting was completed, I was pretty happy with the outcome.
This was done for a history project. The teacher wanted us to take a popular logo or franchise and create something to represent it. I decided to do Disney. After many hours it was finished. In all there are 12 Disney characters and the Disney logo. I also really liked this drawing.
This is the process I go through to complete the drawings: First I search for the perfect pictures online. Once I find one, I sit at the computer desk and draw each one by sight with a pencil(I did not trace any of these). Afterwards I go over the pencil lines with pen to help intensify to characters. For the princess painting I added watercolor after the pen.
